Being an Educator is not Easy

There is a lot more to teaching than classroom time.Appreciating kids even though they are disruptive in class. Seeing a positive thing on them is a tough job but it really helps you to appreciate their hidden talent and uniqueness.

Evaluating papers is more than just putting a score on them - you need to assess what children strengths and weaknesses are, and help them to learn further.

Wanting to help kids is certainly a noble motivation. You really need to plan your activities ahead of time and you need more time to think about activities to motivate the children to learn.

It can be an intrinsically rewarding career - especially if you want to help kids. Teaching is really a bad profession but I must say it is really a though one.

Visiting Primary School

My K2 class had a visit on one of the primary school here in Singapore. They had fun and was excited with their experience.  We were able to witness the different parts of a primary school that made them realized that going to primary school was not scary at all. The children were able to view the school library, the primary one classrooms, the music room, the cultural room, and the school garden. They too experienced eating and buying their own food for the first time.

I can observed that my children really learnt a lot from their experienced in visiting the primary school. They were questions raised when we ate our snacks in the school canteen. They were able to compare how different child care school and primary school.

In my own opinion, our experienced today has a great impact to the children's perception on going soon to primary school because they made them learnt that they need to be more independent in taking care of  their personal belongings and be more responsible to manage their time. We showed them that going to primary school is not scary but fun and full of surprises and learning. That is why they need to be strong and confident enough to handle things on their own.

Great Teachers Don't Teach

" Teaching is not a profession; it's a passion. Without your passion to teach its not effective to mold and touch lives. You must have the desire for your students to learn and be the best in the world."

"What are the characteristics of an effective teacher?" My journey to be a teacher is that good teachers care about their students. They don't teach, they touch lives.A good teacher knows the what he is doing and how to share his knowledge to his students . He must know what to teach and how to mold the character of each students. It is also expect and demand high levels of performance towards students. As a teacher you must be a great performer and storyteller that rivet your students attention and interest.

Knowing your profession is a very important key to an effective teacher. Learning is a basic skills that is necessary for a teacher to become an effective educator to the children. Becoming an effective teacher can be tough and especially difficult for a first years of teaching. Being a teacher a learning process that you can learn things through experiences in teaching the children. It is a great investment to take because you are not only teaching but you are affecting lives.
